Introduction

The Language Lab was set up in 2012 at VESIT to improve the communication skills of the students through the use of various innovative techniques and strategies while using the advanced software available in the lab. As Brian Tracy has rightly emphasized about the importance of communication in one’s life, “Communication is a skill that you can learn. It's like riding a bicycle or typing. If you're willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life”. To enable the students to attain this expertise in the use of language, integrated skills of ‘listening’, ‘speaking’, ‘reading’, and ‘writing’ was strengthened and reinforced through special sessions conducted by the faculty in charge to empower the students to use it efficiently and effectively in their daily lives. There are two offshoots of Language Lab VESLit and VESLang Circle.

    

Language Lab

The sessions conducted in the language lab especially benefited students who lack competency in English language as it fostered confidence-building for interviews and intra and inter collegiate competitive events.
